Madeline S. Wirt

Madeline Wirt is a partner at the law firm of Whelchel, Dunlap, Jarrard & Walker. Madeline has been with the firm for 28 years and in that time she has represented numerous businesses in the community, from small family owned businesses with just a few employees to large enterprises with up to 5,000 employees.
Madeline’s experience in representing business owners and management includes most aspects of running a business such as drafting and negotiating business contracts; drafting and enforcing employee handbooks and personnel policies; I-9 compliance and other business immigration matters; defense of EEOC, DOL and other employee claims; FLSA wage and hour compliance; FMLA/ADA/USERRA compliance; drafting and enforcing restrictive covenants such as non-competition, non-solicitation, and non-disclosure provisions; and regulatory compliance specific to the client’s particular business. Madeline is a frequent speaker in the area of employment law. Madeline also has experience in the sale and/or acquisition of a business, having represented both buyers and sellers in the contract negotiation and due diligence process.
FAMILY: Madeline and her husband Rob have two children and one grandchild.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Madeline serves as the attorney on the Board of the Foothills of Georgia Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM) and she is on the Board of Rahab’s Rope, Inc., having served as attorney and board member of Rahab’s Rope since its founding in 2005. Madeline attends Lakewood Baptist Church.
