Experienced Child Support and Child Custody Modifications Attorneys
At Whelchel, Dunlap, Jarrard & Walker, LLP, our family law attorneys Lucy K. Henry, Bethany Sauls Magnus and James M. Wright, are here to assist you in seeking a modification of an existing order for child support as well as child custody. Our attorneys understand that many things may change after a divorce is granted or after an initial child custody determination is made by the Court. Often times one parent relocates to another city or state or one parent's income changes significantly and a Court Order is usually required to change the terms of the existing Order.
Modification of Child Support Order
When one or both parents' income has changed significantly since the entry of the divorce decree (either up or down), a modification of the existing child support award may be in order. Our attorneys are here to assist you in determining whether you should seek a modification of an existing order or to represent you if the other parent has filed a modification action seeking an increase in the award or a decrease in the amount that you receive on behalf of your child(ren).
Modification of Child Custody Order
The Court considers numerous factors in determining whether to modify an existing child custody order. The Court must approve a change of custody and our attorneys can explain this process and guide you, whether you are seeking a modification of a child custody order or defending an action filed by the other parent.
Please contact one of our family law attorneys to discuss a modification action.
