WDJW Attorney Appointed as Georgia Real Estate Commissioner

William L. Rogers, Jr., a partner with the firm and its predecessor, Whelchel & Dunlap, LLP, from 1976 to 2011, has been chosen by Governor Nathan Deal to head the Georgia Real Estate Commission. 
Mr. Rogers practiced with the firm for 40 years, concentrating his practice in commercial real estate and banking law during the past several years.  He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1971 and is a member of the Gainesville-Northeastern Bar Association, serving as president from 1988-1989. He has also served on the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Georgia.

The Real Estate Commissioner oversees the day-to-day activities of the staff of the Commission, whose mission is to represent the public interest by “ensuring professional competency among real estate licensees and promoting a fair and honest market environment for practitioners and their customers and clients in real estate transactions in Georgia.”
